~ Six Month Update ~

We no longer have a little baby. We have a BIG GIRL!

Jae Anna had her six month check-up yesterday. She had to get four shots! I also got the flu shot. Jae Anna was much braver than I was. Of course she didn't see it coming. Her measurements came to 17.11 pounds and 26 1/2 inches tall. She's still in the 75 percentile range for everything. At first the nurse told us that she was only 30 percentile for weight. We knew that did not sound right since there's nothing skinny about our chunky monkey. Sure enough, when we mentioned it to the doctor, she informed us that it was the nurses second day on the job and that she had charted Jae Anna's weight incorrectly.

We have had to put the baby gate up at the stairs because Jae Anna has become very mobile. She just rolls and rolls until she gets to where she wants to be. Her personality is really starting to show more and more.

The picture at the top left is of Jae Anna in her Subaru hat, gloves and socks. Tim bought those for her, of course. The picture to the top right was taken at the church in Albany. My grandparents on my mother's side were celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary over the Thanksgiving holiday. They only knew one another for three weeks before they got married. My Granddaddy said that most of their friends gave them a few months, tops, back in the day. Said the marriage would never last. Now, 60 years later, 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren later... We're all glad they did :)

We had Thanksgiving lunch at my brother's home. A lot of family was in town for the anniversary, so it was a big crowd. My brother rented one of those huge blow-up slides for the kids to play on. The grown-ups had just as much fun sliding, I believe. Then Friday night we had a bonfire in my parents back yard and we had barbecue from my Mom's restaurant. Mmm-mmm good! I love it!
